Worship
Worship is every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM after Labor Day until Memorial
Day. Our summer worship time is at 10:00 AM. People are
often surprised when they attend our services. The pastor does not wear
vestments and the ritual of the Common Service is not used. Recognizing
the freedom for different forms of worship allowed by the Lutheran
Confessions, and believing the New Testament worship forms were simple,
we center our worship around the singing of gospel and worship songs,
traditional hymns, and the sermon which is based on God’s
Word.
Sunday School
There is opportunity for everyone at Berea to grow in faith
and enjoy fellowship! From September through May, Sunday School classes
are offered for children pre-kindergarten through six grade. For teens
we offer a fun, engaging class that will provide encouragement and
answers for today. An adult Bible-based study is offered as
well.
Family
NightsWe gather mid-week, either in the church
or homes, for a time of fellowship, teaching, and prayer for families
of all ages. Currently we gathering each Wednesday night at church to view "The Truth Project." This fast-paced, challenging worldview study helps us better understand the Christian answers to important questions of life. The
junior and senior high youth also meet on this evening for fellowship
and study. The children have their own time of fun and learning too!
There is something for everyone!
Youth
Ministry
Teens at Berea have many opportunities to
grow closer to God, make friends, and get involved in the church.
Typical youth group meetings include refreshments, games, a Bible
study, and time to just catch up with one another. In the past few
years, several of the Berea youth have also participated in summer
mission opportunities, a national youth convention, and other local
events.
Confirmation
In order to help young people understand and own their
faith, we offer two years of confirmation instruction for middle school
students. The program uses a fun, interactive format and an exciting
new curriculum called Confirm It!
Prayer
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and
thankful - Colossians 4:2
We believe that prayer is a fundamental part of a person’s
relationship with God. In order to encourage prayer together we meet
every Wednesday during the noon lunch hour for a time we call “Pack & Pray.”
Pack your lunch to
church and enjoy a time of food and fellowship, and then pray together for the needs
of the world, community, and church.
Men’s Ministry Group
These are challenging days for men! With so many negative
stereotypes and influences surrounding men, it is more important than
ever that men band together to support and encourage one another in
their faith. The men of Berea gather on the 3rd Sunday evening of each month for a time of food,
fellowship, and study in God’s Word together. During the summer we have
also started a tradition of enjoying a Twins baseball game together.
Our current study is Ken Sande's " The Peacemaker." Come join us for an uplifting, life-changing time!
Women’s Ministries Fellowship
The women of Berea join together in a
variety of ways for fellowship, encouragement, and service. There is a
monthly meeting that includes a Bible study, prayer time, and
refreshments. In addition, the women get together for crafting days,
play groups, and other special events throughout the year.
Friends &
Fellowship
The seniors at Berea enjoy a monthly
gathering that includes a light lunch, some music, and a guest speaker.
During the year this group will also organize events like a picnic at
Noonan's Park or a special program at one of the senior residences in
town. |
